If you get a Scotsman saying Baht (that is how Westeners usually write it)the translation back into English of what the Thai hears is different. It does actually change in the translation. That is why if when a Falang tries to try and speak Thai all he has to be is slightly out with the pitch and it is a completely different word. Try explaining to a thai that a moose in Scotland is three inches long ,yet in Canada it's six feet long.Or in Scotland 'Theres a moose in the hoose'in Northern England 'Thurs maus in t'aus' when really they're trying to tell you there's 'a mouse in the house' Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
