Is there any recommendations where to find legitimate software titles in Bangkok? How are the prices compared to the US? I'm looking for things like XP Pro, Office 2003 Pro, utils like Partition Magic and the like.

The OEM versions of Xp Pro and Office can be found at the bigger hardware stores. I remember that XP Pro OEM was around 8,000 baht, around $200.

For other software, many of the big distributors (Ingram, Dcom, etc) will sell them. The price is usually close to MSRP, and discounts are fairly rare.

The branches of The Bookchest (Siam Square/Pantip) have a good collection of legit software.
