Gmail Problem This Morning

Featured Replies

I use Thunderbird everyday to download my mail from a number of different gmail accounts. This morning, I got Thunderbird generated messages from 3 of my accounts that gmail didn't recognize or accept (I forgot) my user name or password. When I tried to sign on to gmail.com, gmail didn't recognize my username or my password from the 1st account I tried. I then got their graphic confirmation (I hate how unrecognizable they can be) and got a message that my account has been disabled. I was afraid that my account(s) had either gotten corrupted or hijacked. I was about to send them a message regarding this when I decided to try another account. When I went to gmail again to sign in, the account that was "disabled" was now available as if my original attempt to sign in had been successful. When I went back to my Thunderbird, I was able to download my email.

Anyone know what happened?

I have had these email since gmail got started and it just showed me how attached I have gotten to them. They are my personal and business link to the electronic outside world.

I have 3 gmail accounts and can't log onto any of them, either directly or via Windows Live, which I use as my email host. Thee were OK at 8a.m. this morning, but now no go.

I actually received a few gmail emails a while back via Windows Live after trying for some time, but it is all dead again now.

I have tried all ways to log in but cannot.

Clearly a problem with gmail. Most unusual, my problems are usually with Hotmail.

Anyone heard what is going on?

the line was bad this morning at the office but soon recovered around 1100 hrs and gmail is working as usual (in Pattaya)

I also have problems with Gmail today: "Unable to reach Gmail. Please check your internet connection. Trying to reconnect now…"

I had this problem a couple of weeks back as well, for a couple of days.

Then, as now, the problem goes away if I use my US proxy server. This suggest either Maxnet is messing with their network, or more likely, as I only have problems with Gmail, a problem with Gmails server for this area.

This is the first time I have ever had a problem with gmail. It is still down.

I also use Maxnet, which has also been playing up today, so maybe there is a connection?

I'll try my AIS Edge connection tonight if it is still down, and see if it works on that. If so, we will know it is Maxnet.

Hotmail is fine :)

But I can't get any of my ThaiVisa notifications :D

My gmail as we speak appears to be working properly with Thunderbird. Just for this reply, I also signed on to the problem account and got in with no problems. I appears there are different problems happening here. My morning problem has come and gone, I hope for the last time.

^ Nope, I think it is the same problem. I can confirm the problem has disappeared for me too now.

Doesn't sound like the same error message I got plus I did get email from 1 of my accounts.

I never got this error before.

I am glad it is gone now for both of us.
