" ขอทบทวนความจำของท่าน ศ.ดร.บวรศักดิ์ อุวรรณโณ ราชบัณฑิต ว่า. . . "

Does the phrase "ขอทบทวนความจำ" mean:

1. "Let me remind Dr. . . . " or,

2. "Let me remind [you, the reader,] of Dr. . . . "

or something else?

On another web site, I see the following:

"ก่อนอื่นขอทบทวนความจำกันเบื้องต้นก่อนนะครับ.."

What does the highlighted phrase mean in this context? Thanks for your help.

ความจำ is 'memory' ทบทวน is revisit the subject, so ทบทวนความจำ means 'remember'

So ขอทบทวนความจำ is 'please remember'

Adding ของท่าน makes it your act of remembering so 'please revisit your memory' I suppose

Adding กัน simply makes it a joint act 'let us remember'

First of all, let us refresh our memory or basic knowledge(before continue talking about anything we are going to discuss or study today). BUt I think this sentence is not clear. It should be "ก่อนอื่นขอทบทวนความจำเบื้องต้นกันก่อนนะครับ". If it's as it shown on your example, the word "เบื้องต้น" and "ก่อน" should not be together. It sounds like "First of all, ......at the begining first...."which is not only redundant and also confusing.
