Web-site Access Denied By Rtp

Featured Replies

Recently folk have been getting the Royal Thai Police notice denying access to web-sites they are on. I must stress the two sites in question are eBay and Alibaba which do not display content worthy of such a ban. The web server was contacted but advised all was working normally..a big help we were not asking about connection speeds etc being more than happy with the intermittent service.

If the RTP have imposed such bans to these sites, then surely other sites would be affected.

Q. Do any of you IT guys have a contact person to report this too so as their filter can be relaxed or adjusted. I would have thought it was a matter for Thai Culture Dept but seeing as it is RTP it may come from Special Branch..any ideas as local folk are suffering down time with their businesses ? Thanks.

Please check some threads on this board. They are addressing your concern.

As you don't mention your provider its hard to determine the cause but some members on this board

reported an ISP has problems with the server

As addition to my reply: I can open both web sites you mention without any problem

/CSloxinfo from Bangkok

I'm the same! I can get into both those sites almost instantly.

Maxnet/Pattaya

It initially seemed to be a Maxnet problem, but as the OP apparently uses TOT broadband (if they have such a thing :) ), the problem might be a bit wider!

To keep things centralized, please continue discussion in this thread!
