Ni Number

Featured Replies

hi guys just a couple of questions

my thai wife got her ni number the other day not to many problems

just wanted to know do i still need to pay for presciptions for her at the chemist (in scotland)

does she now get free dental treatment or do i need to still pay for her ?

cheers guys

An NI number has nothing to do with the NHS, nor her entitlement to NHS treatment.

In England she would be entitled to the full range of NHS treatment as soon as she arrived with a settlement visa; whether she is exempt from the various NHS charges or not depends upon her circumstances. Is it not the same in Scotland?

I have NI number when I worked in UK last 2 years when I return to UK, this NI number still valid for me to apply a job in UK? Also if it's valid but my name has changed then I need to apply for a new one?

It will still be valid, and you should contact the DWP about changing your name when you return to the UK.
