Have you noticed your feet starting to look Fred Flintstone , JRR Tolkien Hobbit / Troll like after years of wearing just flip flops ?

Can you be more specific?

I am having foot problems, as I'm close to the age of 40.

Flip-flops have been medically proven to cause foot pain and problems in some people. When we wear the flip-flops, which are flat, with no heel strap on the back, we do not walk with a normal natural gait.

It can cause ankle and nee problems in some people.

I don't wear flip-flops anymore, but I do wear higher quality sandals with a heel strap and 2 straps for the top of the foot. I alos put Dr. Schools orthotics in them. Dr scholls are cheap, but they help a little.

I just bought orthotics (not custom made at the podiatrist) from a company that make better quality the Dr. Scholl's.

But in a couple of days I am going to a podiatrist to have custom molds made of my feet for orthotics.

I'm not sure if I answer your OP, but yes, I wore flip flops with flat feet and they hurt my feet, and I don't wear them any more.

Splaying of the toes due to feet not being squished in shoes.

Cracked, wrinkled, dry skin due to exposure to the sun.

Ingrained dirt due to constant exposure to dust and dirt.

Cracked, deformed nails due to more bangs, cuts, knocks and stubbings as for more time is spent wearing flip-flops or shoeless.

Is this what you're on about?
