SONGKHLA : Police are widening their investigation into a baby trafficking ring after arresting its suspected leader.

Police said Narumon Piemtaisong, 37, had confessed to leading a three-member gang which would convince poor families to sell their babies.

She said a Malaysian gang run by a "Mrs Andy" would then buy the babies for resale to couples in Malaysia.

Many of the babies were born to foreign immigrant workers in Thailand.

Hello, this is good work by the BIB so they do investigate trafficking. We do not know if the children were sold to be used as slaves or if they will resell the children. I hope the children will have a better life, but selling people is so wrong on many levels. It is good the BIB did not look the other way, and they should look for more of this.
