Dear All,

I am going to Vientiane next week. I have 3 tourist visa already. Are they still willing to stamp another one entry atleast as they used to be? Kindly confirm on this.

Thanks and best regards,

Yes, you can get a double entry tourist visa for free there, even if you had them before.

Agree with M. Double Entry Free of Charge.

Am also planning to go to ventiane next week. Can anyone tell me what's the easiest way to go there. And if it's safe to travel alone if you're a woman. By the way am in phuket. Since i had three TR visa stamp already from Penang, i can't go back there. Can someone give me some advice on what to do.

Thank's a lot and have a nice day everyone.

From Phuket flying to Udon Thani would probably be the easiest route. Flying to Vientiane is best but probably a lot more expensive.

After you get to Udon you can get a van to the bridge in Nong Kai.

By train would be cheapest but means changing trains along the way. Bus would be the same. Anyway you go will mean getting to Bangkok first.

I don't think you should have any problem traveling alone.

Have a look at the last few pages of this 49 page topic about Vientiane visa runs. Most info is about getting there from Bangkok though but you have to get to Bangkok anyway. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Vientiane-La...sa-t158561.html

For a quite safe and decent place to stay, recommend the Mali Namphu Guest House, right downtown. Email ahead of time for a reservation as they're often full. I don't recommend the 3rd and 4th floors, but must say I've not been up that high there, knees might not take the descent. 2nd floor rooms fine.

Easy walk to the Mekong, the Khop Chai Deu Restaurant is right around the corner, turn left out of the GH. A bit more of a walk to the Sticky Fingers Restaurant but worth it. Believe the SF is closed on Mondays, it's opposite the Thai Pan Hotel.

hi guys,

thanks a lot for a quick reply. i'm really considering going to ventiane and i was thinking that there's a way to go straight there from here in phuket. but it seems that i have no choice but to go to bangkok first. in that case i might just use a visa runner base in bangkok then. does anyone knows of any reliable visa runner there.

thanks again and best regards to all

I was there last week again, its an nice and easy visa run,

I was talking to a few Europeans living there and they tell me that there has

been a lot of female tourists who have had their handbags snatched lately.

hi again guys,

thanks for all the info u had given me. thats really useful for me. and yes i think am going to use thai visa service it seems that they're highly recommended.

since halfhead mentioned about snatcher, then it will be more safer to go with the group than by myself i guess.

thanks again guys and have a nice weekend
