LaoPo it was not aimed at you. Sorry if you misunderstood.

Scots reference.

Thanks :)

Ah, Goodwife,

Mea Culpa..... well yes I did take Latin back in the day. 1968. Hated it.

Dad used to teach it too, didn't make me like it more.

Veni vidi vici, carpe deum, quid pro quo, ad infinitum.

Oh if you look, you can find me admitting mistakes many times here.

I am perfectly willing to change my point of view IF new information

comes to my attention that invalidates my past perceptions.

PS you have mail.

What Da Torpedo spoke would bring you some punishment not only in the UK, but also in the rest of Europe or USA. If it is about a King, or any other person. You won't come in jail but you would pay some money.

Since most of us don't know exactly what she said, and for us in Thailand to listen to it would in itself constitute lese majeste, I think making a legal judgement on what may or may not have happened in other legal jurisdictions is completely disingenuous and highly insulting to other countries legal systems. You aren't a judge, so keep your amateur legalese to yourself.

And I quote again....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_treason_..._United_Kingdom

James Hewitt, between 1987 and 1992. As she was then the wife of the Prince of Wales, heir to the throne, this fitted the definition of high treason, and a national newspaper briefly attempted [2][3] to have Hewitt prosecuted for what was then still a capital offence.[4]

Obviously sense does prevail elsewhere in the world.

Different than you I know what she told, so do most interested Thais. As well if you read the postings here you get some clue what it is about.

I doubt that someone can "insult" legal systems. Do I need to apologize to the insulted systems? :)

18 years for voicing one's opinion is barbaric, as she believed what she was saying was the truth.

It was not a slanderous attack but a speech about a personal belief.

No it was not about beliefs........and it was not peaceful.

It's been a good discussion on a sensitive issue. My compliments to the 99% of posters who kept it sensible and mature. We had to delete a few posts here and there that wandered into areas that we considered "uneasy", but good job everyone on keeping things on topic, and for showing restraint where it's important. We've never been able to leave these topics open before.

Thank you :)
