Bkk-surin City?

Hi,i go april to surin city.I did this before by train or bus.Now i would try to go by air,is there any flight to surin city,or nearby,from bkk??When yes,some off you have experiance with it??

Andaman used to fly into Surin but have since gone arse up.

Phuket Air fly into Buri Ram most every afternoon...but my personal opinion is that you catch the night train from Hua Lamphong and no need for anyone to drive an hour to Buri Ram and an hour back to Surin.

A few ways to get to Surin, from my experience.

1. Charter a Helicopter about 100,000B + but in terms of service, doo-to-doo etc and it takes a total of 2 hours from Bang-Na to Southern Surin, you can't beat it.

2. Commercial and casual Fixed Wing Charter. About the same cost or a little less, to PackdeeSurin. You can make it less if you can find someone who needs "Hours" in the air and you can split the charter cost. Time = cost. The faster you want the more it costs.....

3. Commercial scheduled flights. You have to go to Burriram and get a Taxi. Cost of the return ticket about 3000 plus a good 1000 for the taxi. 1.5 hours of air time plus another 1.5 hours of taxi....

4. Train. Get the Sprinter. I forget the fare, it was cheap and reasonably fast. 6 - 8 hours of travel time.

5. The Bus. I don't like the bus for a number of reasons. 8 - 10 hours of travel time

6. Private Songtails. You can go to Surin for as low as 250 Baht door to door. About 12 hours of travel

7. Taxi. 3500 is the schedule fare for a Bangkok Taxi on the yellow card. Some will do it for that - make sure you get a new taxi, the ride will be more comfortable. About 6 hours
