Ok let me explain in in more detail

If anyone has faced a layoff here in thailand they can submit thier work permit copy , along with thier pass book copy and passport along with the letter which states the termination from the company for the given reason

For this the social security office registers thier name and gives them back a paper in w they write down dates on which the person has to visit the SS office along with that piece of paper every month as per the date given

Till last year the dates given had a span time of 6mths , ie the person would get a certain money deposit to his bank account automatically every month from the SS office every time he gives his attndence at the SS office

This year (since jan 2009) the SS office has increased the span from 6mths to 8mths , ie now the person will get money deposits continuesly for 8mths

I initially had the 6mths printed on the piece of paper given to me by the SS office , later they wrote down 2 more dates which made the span to 8mths now

I just compleated the 6mths recievable duration this month , so the next 2mths is the handwritten extention.

For this the office has asked me to get some documents along with me the next time i see him to get my recievables, which i didnt understand. All i understood was " copy passbook"

Does anyone know about this extension issues and the docs needed ?

Hope u got it this time guys , sorry about the confusion

If you are speaking about the Thai So Sec office, why don't you take someone with you, who speaks the language that the officer speaks and ask them to translate for you'.

Rather than all us of guessing what you are trying to say, get the FACTS straight from the horses mouth. You will probably save youself a lot of trouble and maybe even money.

He couldn't understand your Thai.

I think he's talking about unemployment compensation.

It use to be they kept you in the system for 6 months after quitting/losing a job. During that time you remained eligible for all benefits, including health benefits, without paying a monthly fee.

It sounds like the benefits may have gone from 6 to 8 months.

During the initial 6 months, you can sign up to pay your own soc sec fee each month. That keeps your health benefits alive for as long as you pay the fee.

The fee for paying on your own was 432 baht per month. Because of the Thai stimulous package that fee has been reduced for the rest of the year. Now I'm paying 260 per month.
