Greetings all,

I have a single entry non-B visa that expires on 16 Sept. The company I worked for wasn't able to get me a work permit as they messed me around so I quit that job.

I now have another company thats offering me a job but they won't be able to get me the work permit in time as they need to extend the company's capital from 4 to 6 million baht(They have 2 work permits already).

What are my options? Can I apply for the work permit and use the receipt or application copy as proof to extend my Non-B?

I know i need the work permit but its not going to be ready in time.What can I do?

The longest extension you can get would be 7 days without a work permit;

Your only other choice is to get another single entry visa.

So,I need to leave the country and apply for another Non-B visa,right. I thought that they only issue one Non-B and thats it.

Won't they question me as to why I don't have a work permit? Also,do you know of people who have re-applied for a second Non-B with a second compay letter and had no problems?

People do it all the time. You will not have a problem. It would be good if you had the WP3 for the work permit application.

That is the receipt for work permit application and it does not appear you are at that stage yet. So, unless you are a teacher do not believe you will obtain a B visa until you have it. You can obtain a tourist visa free of charge to give you some breathing room - and when you get the W3 make another run for a B visa.

WP3 is the receipt form following submission of WP application. But I suspect your application may have to wait until company capital restructuring is complete, as labour dept will need to see these new documents as part of WP submission papers.
