20 Gangs At Suvarnabhumi Airport

ILLEGAL OPERATORS DEFY AUTHORITIES

http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/23331/crackdown-fails-to-stop-airport-gangs I think weve all been made victims or at least been stalked and lied to by these gangs at one point in time or another. It seems to me that if they want to increase the numbers of tourists coming to Thailand, they could start by becoming more transparent.

So, there are as many as 20 powerful gangs, operating at the Suvarnabhumi airport, that prey on tourists (amongst other things). From the article, they have only disclosed six of them:

Kamnan Samruay: they provided underground foreign exchange services; has extended its business to cover ticketing and illegal taxi and tour guide services. It also collects "protection fees" from smaller gangs.

Boonruang Srisang: runs an illegal taxi and tour guide service network.

Sak Pakphanang: a break-away from the Boonruang Srisang gang,

Pirap: believed to have strong connections as its leader has the same last name as an AoT executive.

Pattaya Mafia: leaders are known as Steve and Montri and who are neatly dressed and can easily pass as passengers, is stationed on the fourth floor of the passenger terminal.

Phuyai Daeng : good connections with influential figures in Samut Prakan, works more like a lobbyist for fraudsters who want to gain entry to the airport.

Do you know the other gangs and anything else about them?

I'd like to avoid these people as much as possible. I fly in and out of that airport about 5-10 times a year and have been doing so since it opened.

These are by far the worst. Avoid Steve and Montri on the 4th floor if you can and jump on a Bell Travel bus to Pattaya hassle free.

They might be neatly dressed, but that's because they have Pattaya Indian tailors.

What do they all look like, other than being neatly dressed? And where on the forth floor are they located? Can you give any more details?
