I am going to either Penang or Kota Baru on Sunday and need advice on which will be the better Embassy to go to.

I'm applying for my second Non-B (Single Entry),the first one's expiring soon and I am going to work for another company.

There's not enough time to get my W.P before I go, so the main question is : Is it worth trying for another Non B without a WP3 form to support it?

The only documentation I'll have will be the letter from the employing company and their profile etc.

Anyone tried this recently and got a Non B without a WP3 form as support?

I went to Penang on end of June (I know... it is not to recent...).

I applied for a Non Immigrant B without WP and everything went without problem.

I had to stay there 2 nights (Run was organized by my employer). It meant 2 days just waiting the Visa Run company fix everything.

If you bring everything required, there should be no problem.

As said, it was nearly 3 months ago and I don't know if situation changed in Penang Consulate.

I do not believe there is any chance for a non teacher to obtain without the Work permit application receipt in the immediate area.

Seth79, Did that ask any questions about the WP3 and secondly do you have a teaching job? My first Non B went smooth as I did it through a University,This time Its through a Dive company in Phuket!!

By the way,How easy is it to get the Wp3 receipt anyway? Is it a matter of going in ,filling out the form and taking it away the same day? Or does it take a while to be approved?

I believe it is a few days wait normally but have never done so no first hand information.

I would concur with Lopburi; you are unlikely to obtain in the immediate area. The list of requirements on MFA website (click here) are quite specific that WP has to have already been applied for.

You ask how easy is it to obtain WP3 receipt. It is not difficult if your employer has all the correct paperwork. But, based on the information in your earlier thread, you are not at that stage as you advised your new employer was going to have to increase the capital of the business to support your WP application.

I am in Thailand to make a Management Training in a resort. I enter Thailand with a Non Immigrant "ED" Visa and applied for a Non Imm "B" after 3 months.

I provided what was given to me by my employer: letter from the General Manager, Copy of Business Register (i don't know how it is called in Thailand ).

I don't have a work permit as I am here officialy for study purposes (Training) but I received a Non B without problem in Penang.
