Petbon
Delighted to be told by helpful staff that I could travel half price as a senior. I'd not asked, but my age came up when talking about something else. I gather it's for 60+ and I did say I was visiting only and not a permanent resident. If using a concession pass, one has to get it changed to a senior one. Sometimes I got prices wrong, or overpaid, but was always corrected to MY advantage. The locals were patient re my lack of language, often with someone nearby intervening to help with directions, or taking the time to walk me to a destination. This will spur me to be more helpful towards foreign speakers when they ask for assistance in Auckland.
posttenebraslux
Would like to confirm. Most of MRT's staff are very kind and helpful and tell you that seniors enjoy half-price tickets. Thank you very much and please go on like this.
