Tywais
A little more expensive then you asked but you can look at the series > Panasonic Lumix and another Lumix and one more Lumix
GungaDin
Thanks for responding. The ZS3 was top of my wishlist @ Amazon but the weight and thickness has put me off it, although it has a super spec. 220g & a spare Panasonic battery @ $30.00 & you must use the Pana battery. Hmmm If I could just find a dealer in BKK to try it out in-shop...... I'll be in town on Thursday to pay my fines.
britmaveric
SD1200 - Canon Elph. Great little digital camera and very small/compact. Big fan of the elph line and take great snaps/vids.

GungaDin
Some good suggestions above. So far, it's a draw for specs between the Lumix ZS3, & the Nikon Coolpix S70 The Nikon is $400 ........ Ouch! If the S70 was better priced, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I had a Nikon S50 which was stolen from HoneyHouse One on Sukh 22, along with $3500 (inside job) last November. That was a great little pocket camera. No one has mentioned Casio...... not good? Still sorting thru Canon's multiple models. I've had Canons for 10 years. cheers
malcolminthemiddle
We just bought a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900. My wife loves it. Not sure if it meets your tech spec and they are more expensive than US$300. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T900 is a slim and stylish ultra-compact digital camera featuring a metal body, sliding front plate and folded optics. Highlights of the T900 include a 12.1 megapixel sensor, 35-140mm equivalent 4x zoom lens, large 3.5-inch touch-sensitive rear screen, Super SteadyShot optical image stabilisation, face and smile detection technology, ISO 3200 and intelligent scene recognition. The Sony T900 also boasts 1280x720 pixel 720p HD movie recording with stereo sound and HDMI output. Available in silver, black, red and bronze, the Sony DSC-T900 currently retails for about $380 / £

GungaDin
Thanks Mal but it doesn't have a 28mm lens. Does anyone know of a Panasonic camera dealer in BKK? They're hard to find!
harrry
I currently have two big panasonic cameras. No complaints at all.....the only reason some photos are no good is me. I had a pocket camera and dropped it in australia two days aftre buying it breaking the shutter button. I used it for a while using a drawing pin as a button. I eventually contacted the service department and they ordered one for $50 and told me how to put it on myself to to save a huge service charge. GOOD SERVICE but that was in Perth. Agreed, a nice camera. Have you seen the price tag? GULP! Besides, I don't shoot in the RAW, I wear boxer shorts......
svenivan
"Have you seen the price tag? GULP! " 430 US, yes, not cheap but the day you shoot in low light and you have a 2.0 aperture compared to 3.3 it is a huge difference, you probably say it was worth it! And wearing boxer shorts, you hopefully are in a low light area! But I wish you good luck with whatever you choose! My choice was a 4 year old heavy (930 g) camera and I just love it. Cannot find a shirt with that big pockets!
