Two Passports

Featured Replies

Hi There, :)

I am takeing my wife and son (10month old) to england to meet the family. I have got the visa for my wife and a thai passport and English passport for my son. When i leave Thailand do i present my sons thai

passport and on arrival in England present his english passport and vise versa when returning .I have presumed so but want to be sure. Thanks anyone with experience.. Pete :D

That is the correct procedure. At check-in you present both passports, so the airline knows that no visa is needed for both countries.

You can also get a right to abode stamp (or is it a sticker) in your son's Thai passport and then use only the Thai passport. I thought of getting those stamps in my wife's and two kids' Thai passports (they all have UK passports also) but I never bothered. It costs too much. We do exactly as you plan to do.

Who knows, in the future if Thai authorities begin being difficult to holders of Thai and foreign passports we might do the abode option, then they only need to carry Thai passports.

I'm in the same situation with my 2 year old son....if I follow this procedure going to Denmarj, what do I do at arrival back in Thailand, when my son does not have a Danish arrival stamp in his passport but only a departure stamp from Thailand??

And what about the Danish passport control, they check my son's Danish passport and cannot find a departure stamp from anywhere???
