Why do you need to? Why not use this one? Anything you need to be answered about the UK. We can do it here.

Maybe a TROLL? What do ya think Jai Dee? You can spot them.

Jockstar,

Thank you for your help, but at the moment I live in England with my Thai wife, Reading to be precise, and wanted to know about any groups of Thai and Farang get togethers in or around London, also where the nearest Thai Wat is to my Location.

By the way I am not a troll :o

:o Thank you to Khunlungphuhu, Nignoy and Dedanan,

the information you all gave will be very useful to my wife in the future. My wife and I will be back to los on the 27th March for one week, she has to go back to her old school in Surin to get all her leaving papers signed, she used to be a teacher in the goverment school, we will then holiday in Jomtien for a week stay at the DD INN or Talay Jomtien cheap but cheerfull.

Wat Buddhapadipa, Calonne Road, Wimbledon, SW19..

Will be more than enough Thais there for Songkran.

Temple has it's own website, but it needs updating.

does anyone know what date Songkran festival will be at the Wat in Wimbledon??

I beleive they are celebrating on the 10th of April, but I am not 100% sure on this. If you are in the Uk may be worth giving them a ring. :o

Here are Thai temples, but with Western monks, a good alternative. I met a lot of people who did not like the Wat in Wimbledon. Oh well.., you can please some of the people all the time, or all the people some of the time... but you can't...

Here's a new one that is making a good effort

from the bbc

This link is to a good set of temples in uk, where the abbot does all nesletters/announcements etc in Thai and English, and also runs some courses in Thai language if you are interested. I met the abbot and he is a good sort, and is the only one I ever heard of who makes a genuine effort to bridge the Thai and English cultures.

Otherwise head to the nearest Thai restaurant, and chat to them there...
