Independant Contractors

Featured Replies

I have a Amity Treaty Corporation that I have set up to perform Internet Development, web design SEO etc. I am the sole director at this time and I dont live in Thailand. I do not get paid, as the company has made no profit as a start up.

I do have some work which I want done by an Independent Contractor. As we expand, I will hire Thais etc and other employees. Our clients will pay the Amity Treaty Company from foreign banks which will be deposited into the Amity Treaty Company checking account in Thailand and basically will be used to pay company expenses such as Independent Contractors to start. This company is a total start up that I hope to retire to one day.

I will not draw any salary or do I have any other employees. If we grow of course I will hire people as for now , no need.

Is there any problem with this and are there any legal issues that I need to take care of ? It seems I read the company has to pay some tax for the Independent Contractor but he does not need a work permit etc. Is this correct I want to stay within the law 100%.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think not too many people have any idea what the Treaty of Amity is. Being a U.S. citizen myself, I do know what it is, but can't answer any of your questions.

But I have one for you: have you recently started this company? I was considering this option, but didn't know if it was still available.
