Tiger Temple Rip Off

Featured Replies

Ohh come on people..!!! How cheap are you guys, 1000 baht for an experience like this. Tell me where else in the world can you do similar for that price? Try going to one of the theme parks in Australia, it will cost you about 3500baht for a photo with a tiger, not to mention the 1800 baht just to get through the front gate.

Curious as to just how much life long financial support you give. Some of the better hotels in the country have been over booked occassionally. Get over it, have a gigle and put it down to the experience.

Wow you had to pay a 1000baht, what a HUGE ripoff..!!!!

You are probably the same farang who haggle a poor stall owner over the price of a banana...

:) for the cheap charlies...

This sounds like a case of saying that 2 wrong make a right. Just because people get ripped off in Oz, it doesn't mean that they should get ripped off here.

What's YOUR zoo's in Europe have to do with your access to a temple in rural Thailand. Your thread didn't say you were denied access, you simply stated that you were pissed because you had to pay to visit, and that was the basis for your claim the temple was a "RIP OFF" As expected you seem to be one of these farang who think they are above everybody else and full of your own importance.

If your husband is such a world renowned zoo trainer I'm sure 1000 baht would be small change for you. Not to mention if you were so committed to the temple you wouldn't mind paying the money anyway. Wow 20 euro, big money..

Most on this thread has complained about the cost to have a picture taken with the tigers and the entry fee, so I would say that to compare the price of the same attraction in Australia would be fair. Charity or not.

Maybe your hubby should take some tigers back to Europe and start your own temple/theme park/registered charity.. He is apparently qualified to train people to look after them..

Get over yourself....

Beacher, name one place in Thailand or the world for that matter where tourists don't get ripped off. Mind you, it is not me claiming that I have been ripped off. As a farang in Thailand it is expected you will pay more for most things, but no complaints from me. I love it here. :)

Thaibear, agreed for a Thai family this experience would be considered very expensive and probably out of reach for most. However it is the farang on this thread that have the complaints. The same farang who are earning euro's or dollars of some sort I would imagine.

Anyways, just my opinion. That's why we are all different.

Have a great day..

Had a great time at the Tiger Temple last year, can't remember how much it was to get in, a fiver maybe, no charge for taking photos of the beautiful condition tigers and compared to the uk charge of nearly 9000 baht for stroking a tiger it was a bargain.....an unforgettable experience and the animals all looked so healthy and beautiful.
