Hi

I will be entering Phuket on a 3 month non immigrant Visa. I now understand (thanks to Lopburi3) that the best I can do is extend this for an additional 7 days as I dont qualify for any of the standard extension criteria.

I will try for a study thai language extension but if doesnt work out I need border run options. I am prepared to do this by air rather than by a long bus trip from Phuket.

Can you recommend what would be the best place to fly to from Phuket and what sort of re-entry visa I should get to maximise my stay. I keep reading about the double entry visa but to be honest I dont understand how it works regards only leaving the country once. How do you get a double entry unless you cross the border twice - or am i being thick??

I read about flights to Hatyai and Langkawi. What sort of entry Visas do they offer? Or is Laos a better option?

What are the costs of the Visas?

Thanks.

At the moment tourist visas are free...............but they might charge an entrance fee into the building...how cynical is that?

I don't think there is a consulate Langkawi and Had Yai is in Thailand.

KL is most probably your best bet for applying for a new visa.

Get signed up with a language school and then apply for a Non Imm Ed visa,

which can be extended inside Thailand.

Land border runs only get you 15 days.

Airports will give you 30 days.

The details of dual/triple Tourist visas are covered here. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Tourist-Visa...on-t300713.html
