I'd Like To Shrink Wrap Something

Nothing like the film "Bad Boy Bubby" <google on it> ... it's for security purposes ... luggage

We've been ripped off in transit once, and that's enough thank you

It may be that there is some booth where you can get this done tucked away at CNX airport, but I can't recall having seen such a place.

Buy a roll of Glad Wrap and do it yourself.

I personally couldn't be bothered with this procedure and suggest it may be a bit of a money making gimmick. I travel around 60,000 miles internationally annually with good quality luggage which is always securely locked.

Doesn't take a great deal of sense to travel safely.

Excellent idea.

I've had it done at Chiangmai airport, and other airports, too.

My thinking is, "cheap insurance".

If the bad guys are wanting to break into someone's luggage, let it be someone else's.

The wrapping service moves from time to time, so I'll mention both locations I've seen at Chiangmai airport.

With the recent construction, may have moved again.

One location is just inside the main entrance, International terminal.

Go through the scanner which is just inside the door, make an immediate right turn and look to your right.

The wrapper is tucked in to a little corner just along side the door.

Another location is international terminal, ground floor, underneath the escalator going up to the departure level.

That's where I found it recently.

Cost: 100 baht.

Very thorough, very careful.

Interesting side note on this topic:

Whenever I've gotten "wrapped", at my destination hotel, the bellboy will take my suitcase up to the room.

In each case, each bellboy -- different hotels, different countries -- has taken out a pocket knife to cut the plastic.

Seemed a very routine procedure for them.

Must be quite a few getting wrapped.
