So, I've been told on here that I can extend my Visa for 60 days based on marriage.

I have a Non Imm O currently, and its now expired, but I am about 2 weeks away from the end of the final 90 day stamp I got.

When should I go to Immigration, i.e. do they extend 60 days beyond the end of the current stamp, or do they extend 60 days from date of application? Is it open Saturdays?

Should I take the wife?

What else should I take?

And its 1900 baht still right?

Thanks so much for your excellent advice in the past.

You can apply during the last 30 days of your permission to stay, so do it now. Your extension will run from the end of your current permission to stay.

You need to take wife with you to immigration together with marriage certificate, house book (tabian baan) and wife's ID card. Also need copies of passport pages and TM6 card + passport photo. Fee 1,900 baht. Most immigration offices are not open at the weekend.

Thanks for that. I'll be going to CM immigration. Open Saturday?

Wifey is on her family house book, which she has a copy of, but not the original, as her family live in Bangkok presently. Will this present a problem?

And is there a copy place next to CM immi?

Thanks again,

Phil

This could be a problem. Here in BKK they always want to see the original especially for first time applicants.

They may also ask for photos of you and wife at home and a map to your home.

At least this is what was required earlier this year in BKK when I had to use the 60 day 'visit Thai wife' extension option.

Of course I don't know what CM requires, best give them a call.

Thanks Opalhort,

A call to immi in CM confirmed that original TB is required. So wifey has asked sister-in-law-ey to send it from BKK.

So I'll pootle down next week once its come.

Nice painless extension hopefully.

Next step - Laos for Non-Imm-O 90 days, proof of income letter from Consulate, and then back to Immi for a 12 month extension! Now give me a biscuit. :)

Thanks again for all the help,

Phil
