Renewing Multiple Entry Non B In Penang

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I hear so many conflicting reports about what visas are available / not available from different embassies.

I'm about to go to Penang to renew my 1 year multiple entry non b visa.

I have a work permit, and the accountant will prepare the relevant papers which i will take.

But does anyone know if I can still do this in Penang?

Believe company must be capitalized to 8 million baht.

Understand Penang will issue, but requires Thai company to have a registered share capital of at least 8m baht.

Not sure about Kota Bharu, but KL will issue multiple-entry visa if you generally have 8 months left on WP, but I did see a report a few days ago of success with with 7 months left on WP.

You may care to look at post#7 in the attached thread about Non-B renewal in Kota Bharu and send PM for more information, or give consulate a call.

no problem for kota bahru, it's still a very friendly consulate.

if you have any doubts, call them before.

have just been advised by Banana Guesthouse (Penang) that the embassy there now require 8m baht company capital.

as for trying to call them, never get through to Penang (recorded message followed by ringing, then connection cut...every time) and K Baru have Thai staff who speak no English

but..have been advised by many to go to K Baru....will let you know how it goes!

UPDATE

just got 1 year non B in Kota Baru no problem! My company is registered for 2m baht capital, and with the correct documents (from my accountant) it all went very smoothly.

Well done. Out of interest, how many months were left on your work permit?
