I have never had to enable autofill in other languages but English, but since my girlfriend is now attending school where she is learning Excel she has asked the question.

For those of you who are not familiar with the term 'auto fill' it refers to the feature where you can have Excel complete a row of weekdays or months automaticly.

I have already installed the Thai dictionary.

Any ideas?

I use Excel 2003 so I hope this information is of use.

I am assuming you are using a western version of Excel. The Thai version should already have all the necessary data in it

Obviously using autofill for numbers should be the same, but for lists such as days of the week or months you could try creating the required sequence in the tools - Options menu

This is from the office help

  1. If you've already entered the list of items you want to use as a series, select the list on the worksheet.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Custom Lists tab.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To use the selected list, click Import.
    • To type a new list, select New list in the Custom lists box, and then type the entries in the List entries box, beginning with the first entry. Press ENTER after each entry. When the list is complete, click Add.

Note A custom list can contain text or text mixed with numbers. To create a custom list that contains only numbers, such as 0 through 100, first select enough empty cells to contain the list. On the Format menu, click Cells, and then click the Number tab. Apply the Text format to empty cells, and then type the list of numbers in the formatted cells. Select the list and then import the list.

By the way my favourite tip for M$ office products is to go to help, - Customer feedback options, select online content, and untick the box that says "Show content and links from office online"

This now means thaqt when you click help you actually get to make use of the many MB of files that M$ installed for you AND it is faster than the online help, and I usually find it more relevant to the problem

Online help is still available fo course through your browser.
