went shopping this past weekend and bought tgf and mom engagement rings,over $4,000 .they said it was part of their culture where mom and daughter get rings. nobody ive told believes its part of their culture, some even laugh in my face.

Well look on the bright side, when they say 'you are marrying into the family', you have done more than most. Moving forward, when you buy a house, please keep in mind that their is no need to buy one for the mother unless you want to.

Ideally the mother in law was a young mom herself, has held her good looks and shape and is predisposed to swinging, only then would I believe its a culture thing or you made a good investment.

I have a feeling the explanation for the TWO rings was misinterpreted , one is for your middle finger and the other for your nose , complete new scam for me .
