Absolutely nothing is being done by the island authorities to contol the waste water from Chaweng's restaurant kitchens from pumping their waste directly into the road drains. North Chaweng is bad enough, but now the stink is travelling South. Just take a look at the new restaurant opened next to Tradewinds Resort and you will see where the footpath has been dug up and a pipe laid directly to the public storm drain. Right opposite, observe the hole exiting from under the footpath out front of another seafood restaurant draining their filth into the road grating. Jesus wept. :)

I totally agree! This is such an important issue and in need of serious attention! This waste water in the road drains will end up in the sea!

Hopefully the Tradewinds next door will be blowing the smell away?

Yea it's a filthy habit some towns get into (not bothering with proper sewerage systems).

Take Penang for example.

An big open sewer running 24/7

right next to a beachside restaurant, selling fish head soup. :)

I suddenly lost my appetite.

Do you smell that? It's Chaweng, son. Nothing else on the world smells like that.

I love the smell of Chaweng in the morning.

I love the smell of Chaweng in the morning.

Reminds me on a quote in "Apocalypse Now.."!

However, seems to depend on the baric pressure, some day's nothing,

some days it's "breathtaking" - but yes this is the smell of asia!

Does anyone remember the klong in the middle of Sathon in Bkk,

before it got a "lid"....?

edit for grammar...
