Hello,

I have read the other posting regarding the FBAR requirement that applies to U.S. citizens and residents. The topic responses have gotten off the subject so I'll ask my question here.

Can my Thai wife open and hold a fixed term savings account in Austrian dollars in a Singapore Bank? Does anyone know of any reason why she cannot, or does any American married to a Thai national have experience in this matter. If it can be done it seems to take care of the FBAR problem.

Any advise would be appreciated.
