I entered Thailand without a Visa on Sept. 26 and would like to stay 6 months. I am flying to Mumbai on Oct. 24 and am hoping to get a 60 day visa at the Thai consulate there(or should I go to the Thai embassy in Delhi instead???)that I would like to renew for an additional 30 days in Thailand. Is this possible? If not, what is my best course of action?

Yes you should be able to get a Tourist Visa in India. This can be extended in Thailand for a further 30 days.

India are strict on the requirement for confirmed flight to Thailand (someone posted that Mumbai require a flight out too). If you're moving about India the VFS office in Bangalore (visa processed in Chennai) is small and friendly, I also had no issues in Delhi.

You don't apply to the embassy / consulate direct, all applications go via VFS as linked by Lite Beer.

My last TV cost 198 Rupees (visa free, Rs198 VFS service charge).

EDIT Interesting, the VFS site does not mention Mumbai.
