Penang Consulate - Same Day Tourist Visa Still Ok?

Hi All

Just looking for some more great advice from the experts, thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if Penang are still offering free tourist visa's on the same day? I went a few months ago and applied in the morning, then collected in the afternoon. Its just that I can get an Air Asia flight into Penang landing at 10:05 so I should be at the consulate for 11am. Will that be too late to apply? I can then collect mid afternoon and get the 17:05 flight out of that hel_l hole and back to Bangkok.

Tourist visas still issued sameday if application in by 11AM. Single entry only and is currently free. You may be cutting it a bit fine to get 17:05 flight back, especially if there is delay in obtaining passport/traffic to airport. Air Asia check-in also closes 45 minutes before departure.
