GIS Support

Featured Replies

Dear Forum members,

I work with small but dedicated regional NGO working to help local communities protect and manage natural resources. From time to time we need assistance with GIS - data analysis and presentation - to better understand problems (such as the impacts of dams or different land use options), and to present data (such as wildlife survey findings or suggested zonation for protected areas). I have some experience with ArcView, ArcMaps, MapSource and Google Earth, but as we tackle bigger problems so our limited capacity is holding us back.

If any forum members are available to offer technical advice or even hands-on training, it would be much appreciated. Unfortunately, for the present time any help would have to be voluntary, though we may in future have funds to pay for GIS support. On the other hand, the work would be limited, flexible and rewarding, and would make a contribution to nature protection and improving the condition of rural communities in the places we work, particularly in Cambodia and Myanmar (the programs I am responsible for).

If any forum members are interested to offer their services, or can recommend colleagues with suitable skills, I am based in Chiang Mai and can be contacted at <email address removed for spam protection reasons. Interested members please send a PM).

Thanks for your attention,

Mark
