Hallo all BM:s!

I have read many threads on the forum about the problems that can

occur to expats in Thailand. I just want to have a couple of answers

up front. I'm going to apply for my FIRST extensionstay in Thailand.

1. I need to have 800000 baht during 2 months before application.

2. I need water / electricbills from my rental condo.

3. I need a letter from my landlord confirming my rentalcontract.

Is this enough?

Regards

Boboo

For your extension of stay based on retirement you need bank passbook/copies showing 800k in account for two months prior to application (3 months for subsequent extensions) and a letter from bank confirming account balance (to match passbook). Obtain the day before going to immigration. Some banks may block your account for 24 hours after issuing letter. Often useful to obtain ATM balance on account (to match letter and passbook) on morning of going to immigration.

You will need completed application form TM7 (can download or obtain from office/fill out there), passport sized photo less than six months old and copy of passport. A map to you residence might be asked for together with some proof such as rent receipt/lease but that should be all. Fee 1,900 baht.

If you plan to travel you should also obtain a re-entry permit from immigration as soon as extension made to keep your permission to stay alive. Fee 1000 baht single entry; 3800 baht multi entry.
