Our TRUE ADSL is running well at just below 2Mbps, but over the past 3 weeks we frequently experience intermittent cuts. Usually 1-2min off, 5-10 min on for a period of 30-60 min.

It always occurs when there is rain and thunder in the inner city even if our location is sunny and dry.

Over the past two days I have observed the following:

If during the cuts I use dial-up (same True line, of course over filter/splitter) the ADSL signal remains stable, once I disconnect dial-up it's back to on-off for ADSL.

There is no phone connected to this line, only one PC's internal modem.

Could there be a connection, for example static on the line which goes away if I put a load (dial-up) on the phone line?
