Motorcycle bomb at Yala market wounds 20

YALA, Oct 19 (TNA) – A motorcycle bomb blast wounded 24 people, including two soldiers, at a fresh market in Yala municipality Monday morning.

According to investigators, two men in their thirties wearing black t-shirts and masks parked a motorcycle near a butcher shop. Then, a bomb hidden at the motorcycle was detonated by a mobile phone.

Police are searching for the pair.

Over 3,500 persons have been killed in the three southern border provinces of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat since the insurgency erupted in 2004. (TNA)

26 injured in bomb attack in Yala market

Yala - Insurgents detonated a homemade bomb at a morning market in the Yala provincial seat Monday morning, injuring 26 people.

The explosion occurred at 7:35 am at the Railway Market in Muang district municipality area.

Witnesses said two men parked their motorcycle and walked away. Then, a soldier was alerted by a vendor to scan the motorcycle using a bomb scanner but failed to detect the bomb. The bomb hidden in the motorcycle exploded about 15 minutes after the scanning.
