HI!! Wondering if anyone has information regarding the rate of tax for those in Education? Currently, I work for one place where my monthly salary is 70K and I am being taxed 10% each month. I also lecturer a couple of times a month at another institute; receive about 10K and am taxed 3% - Is the tax rate based on income bands? & if I'm paying tax for two different organisations, is it possible to get rembursed at the end of the financial year; how do I know if I've paid too much and what is the protocol for finding out/getting some money back? Thailand is all very new to me and I have to admit, despite HR kindly giving me several explanatory documents, all written in THAI!! I am still none the wiser!! This is my first time on this site, unsure how it works, but hopefully, there is someone who knows the state of play!! TIA!!!

My university took 5 percent off of me, but I got a rebate and actually paid around 1percent in total. My wife did the tax rebate forms for me, as you have seen things are written in Thai to confuse us

Unbelievable! The Thai government uses Thai for official forms/documents. What will they think of next?

By the way, they do have tax forms in English. Below is a (bad) partial copy of a pdf file from their website.

You have to submit the Thai version form, but line by line they are the same.

Check out this website: www.rd.go.th (Thai Department of Revenue)

Income tax rates are the same for teachers as for any other job.

Of note: Income tax is payable on a calendar year basis, and due March 31 of the next calendar year. If you are on an employment contract on an academic year basis, that is irrelevant.
