I live near the Charoen Sri Market. Does anyone have any ideas on a nearby outlet for the aforementioned papers.

Many thanks

I live north of the warin bridge (Ubon), but really haven't seen any English news papers (nations/BKK Post). I think

you can go to a nearby Intl. type hotel and ask there or a large book store at Big C, Tesco, Makro etc.

or go online; Nationmultimedia.com / Bangkokpost.com/2009

Thanks. I know Peppers gets theirs pretty early so I'll ask there, although I think south of the river is a long shot at present.

Yeah we get ours delivered around 9.30am - I can try and catch him and ask him if he would deliver over the river. Is that the market near the army base?

I always have trouble picking up the BKK Post whenever I am in Warin, luckily only once a year, but with my next visit being this Saturday. Unfortunately, the shop where I always used to be able to pick up a copy closed down a couple of years ago. There is a newsagent just a short way down the Dej Udom Road out of Warin that had a copy every other time I visited the shop. You may wish to try them.

Thanks for that, the road is just around the corner, I'll give it a shot

On our last trip this past June-July, I had absolutely no luck finding either the Post or Nation in Warin. The school supply/bookshops on the main drag in Warin that had carried one or both just a year previously either no longer carried them or were no longer in business, and I couldn't even find them at the train station, which had always been a reliable place to find them if the other locations were sold out.

Don't know if it's an increase in farangs or a decrease in demand for the hard copy as a result of internet access, but whatever the reason, you're probably better off just stopping by Wrong Way or Peppers and either reading theirs and/or asking them where they find them (my guess is they have them delivered).

On the other hand, if you are determined to stay in Warin, there's a great little cafe with free WiFi near the train station in Warin - Plantae, I think it's called. It's on Tahan Road, just off Sathani Road, next to a Som-tum/Guy-yang place (Nam Jok, I think. Get the grilled ribs). I'm not 100% sure on that; operating from memory, but perhaps one of the full-timers can correct me if I'm wrong.

I know this is far from Warin but i was in Makro last night around 8pm and noticed that they had daily issue of BKK post in they self's, only 1 copy but tye had it, no Nation thou

Yeah Marco, Makro gets there's in quite early but I dunno how many copies they sell as when I am there in the morning it looks like there is only one copy on the shelf then as well!
