Child Protection Tips- Make The Little Folk Safe

in answer to a recent great post recently on some dude whose daughter was nearly molested

and gentleman who decided not to do as most would do and acted for the good

i am putting a few suggestions on how to make our little folk safer

i could bore the pants of you all but i will try and keep it simple

because with little ones its the simple stuff they can remmeber and do

forget all this judo taekwondo they usually will not help at all and teach confrontation

plus, they are next to useless in the real world against an adult

spend some time with your kid and have a friendly discussion

personaly my goal in life is to lecture on this all over for feee to concerned party

do not scare them too much, make them aware of the situation

one very important point is- never go anywhere with a stranger no ifs ,no butts, no expections

do you know the survival chances when your are under their control?

get the kids to practice sceaming HELP and to refuse baits, like free candy

make them very aware that they may know mummy and daddy names, address- but not be recognisable to the kid

this is the highly organised offender, the worst and most dangerous

role play, pretend to offer candy, a trip, etc and get your kid to shout " no leave me alone"

if they get lost seek out a middle aged woman, if men, go for pairs, not single men

people in uniform are best

ask to use a mobile and call the cops, mommy/daddy

nowaday even young kids can carry a mobile, place that search programe onto it

they should always avoid certain areas walk around town and poin then out

if lost in atown stand under area with lots of camera, ATM are good

i once came across a cute little lost gal, first thing i did was call in and asked a passerby lady to wait with me

each them that certain action by adults are totally unacceptable, like touching

all this should be reveiwed regularly until it become a habit, a mindset

there is so much more please read up on it

a hard, sad subject to be sure

a great programe is bill kipps child defense programe which i hope to be teaching, for free to concerned partys soon

I think most abuse of children happens by people they know and from their own family.

Demonising the world's population of men is probably also a form of abuse.

Whilst not defending child abusers, I cant see this line of thinking particularly helpful in stopping it in but a few instances.

How about reeducating the abusers.

A responsible martial arts teacher will teach deescalation. At the same time the students learn IF they have to hit, how to do it right. Getting a counter attack from a kid comes unexpected and that's where the strength is

I'm afraid that straightdave is absolutely right this time. Martial arts are going to give a young child or most women a false sense of sucurity and if they try using it against a full grown man it just may get them killed or crippled.

Men are much stronger than women and children and the world is not like a movie. A bad guy will smash them with no thought.

Self defence for young children is about attracting attention or running away. It should have nothing to do with fighting back!
