Khao Yai Hit By Tornado Like Winds

Featured Replies

For the past 2 days, Khao Yai National Park has been hit by extremely rare and powerful winds. These winds have toppled trees as big as 5' in diameter, uprooted other large trees and snapped 100's of trees in two.

The brunt of the damage seems to be in the bottom 1/3 of the mountain with no noticeable wind damage on the top of the mountain

Rangers teams have been busy for 2 days chain sawing trees and clearing the main road.

With many trees well over 100' tall, these super high winds are causing concern that vehicles in the wrong place at the wrong time could be crushed by falling trees.

The interesting thing is I have not seen this reported in the news anywhere? see more photos visualthailand.com
