The Future Of Airline Seating

One of the most simple and low cost things they could do to improve safety would be to have all seats face towards the rear of the airplane. That way in relatively low speed accident such as at take off and landing you would be pushed into your seat instead of thrown out of it. It's been tried but people whined too much.

I used to fly Aeroflot in those times and apart from the freezing cold inside the plane after the light were off , and the very poor service offered by unattractice staff, never noticed anything like that so this should fit the Urban legends

:D

I know what you're saying but everyone would struggle with the holding their heads up during take off bit, as well as the pressure against the seatbelt unless all seats had the over shoulder type, or there were some radical seat design change like having them reclined a long way. There would also be more sickness (like sitting the wrong way on a train) plus people would probably be more apprehensive because the airline posits that it might crash. How about forward-facing for take off, a bit of musical chairs mid-flight and then aft-facing for landing? :)
