Hi Everyone

Is it true that the law in Thailand has changed and anyone getting married now need to show a bank statement of 200.000 Baht in bank account for last 6 month? Or does this only apply to foreigners who get married in Thailand.

Hope someone can clarify this please

Half to admire the originality of that one. Gold, sin sod, pay for party, build house, purchase buffalo, doctor same, pay off ex, new car/truck, etc Maybe a relative works at immigration or a law firm and their services will be the next requirement.

It's rather creative approach to size up your financial where with all to pay up. I would add that on this evidence perhaps you may want to slow down and take a bit more time to study the whole situation.

Good luck.

I fear the op omitted the most pertinent information.

The money has to be in the young ladies bank account for at least 6 months.

James you really should know better, never mind slowing down, I would be headed to the nearest sports store to purchase a pair of running shoes.

To the op tell the young lady not to contact you, you will contact her.

I was giving the OP (rather his fiance) the benefit of the doubt - perhaps he read this myth on some website like TV. :)
