What's The Cheapest Airfare Bkk To Udon Thani ?

Featured Replies

I did a search but couldn't find ( quickly ) anyone's recommendation for the cheapest airline for Bkk --Udon Thani ( and return ).

Could someone please enlighten me ? I guess some guys fly this route regularly......

Air Asia seems the best, though Nok air seemed the best at first.......however after taxes and extras, came out most expensive.

you already gave yourself the answer:

check the websites of NOKAIR, AIRASIA and don't forget THAI AIRWAYS as they have another domestic promotion these days.....

this one:

http://www.thaiairways.co.th/Promotion2009...i/index_en.html

if you happen to know well in advance when your visa run is for example and need these flights i suggest taking advantage of airasia's promotions. they usually have a free seats-promo or some sort of ridiculously cheap flights promo every 3 months or so and so far i have booked most of my flights from these promotions. that is around 25-30 flights all together and i failed to use 2 of these flights (had chiang mai-bangkok-phuket flights with airasia but decided to book a direct flight with thaiair later)

I usually get a triple entry tourist visa so i can plan my flight future for the next 9 months pretty easily so here are couple of examples for my next vientiane trip that includes bkk-udon thani-bkk legs

Booking Date: Wednesday, 13 May 2009

Thursday, 11 Mar 2010 Flight FD 3364

Depart Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) at 16:15hrs (4:15 PM) and arrive in Udon Thani International Airport (UTH) at 17:15hrs (5:15 PM)

BKK - UTH

Total Fare 0.00THB

Administration Fee 130.00THB

Airport Tax 200.00THB

Insurance Surcharge 100.00THB

Value Added Tax 30.10THB

Total Amount 460.10THB

yes, it is booked 10 months before the flight but i am 95% sure i will need to use these flights

that example is for 2 people fwiw

return leg for this trip:

Booking Date: Wednesday, 24 Jun 2009

Saturday, 20 Mar 2010 Flight FD 3365

Depart Udon Thani International Airport (UTH) at 17:40hrs (5:40 PM) and arrive in Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) at 18:40hrs (6:40 PM)

UTH - BKK

Total Fare 0.00 THB

Airport Tax 100.00THB

Value Added Tax 7.00THB

Total Amount 107.00THB

also for 2 people.

So even if something changes and I would miss these flights I wouldn't be losing much

If you can't plan your future like I do I think airasia is still the best bet until couple of weeks or something like that before the departure

at this point airasia will be much more expensive than when booking well in advance and what atleast I do is just go ahead and book thai airways flights. they are worth atleast 500 baht per flight (imo) if you are already in the position having to pay 1500-2500 for the bkk-udon thani leg

whatever you end up doing have safe flights!

All depends on the offers.

And if you have to travel to Don Muang or want to fly from Swampi.

Nok air is usually cheaper, but I usually use Air Asia... if you are getting the flight back from Udon though its nearly always running late.

Nok is advertising very low seat prices but then topping up on the taxes making them almost as expensive as Thai.

Always best to shop around and see what deals are on at present.

Air Asia seem to be consistantly cheaper than the others.
