Reliable Thai Domain Registrar

Featured Replies

I'm going to need an HONEST & RELIABLE Domain registrar in Thailand to handle a www.___.co.th address, as well as the soon to be available Thai language encoded Urls.

My current Registrar is USA based and doesn't handle .th.co Domains.

Any suggestions will be appreciated, of course.

I've used a Bangkok based company called Visual Web Co., Ltd. for a few hosting solutions, they do domain registration as well.

I believe the best price is directly from THNIC, who all other registrars have to use anyway if they want to register a co.th domain.

If you want a co.th, you will have to fax them some company documents since only Thai companies can own a co.th domain. Each Thai company can only own a single co.th domain, and it must have some relation to the name of the company or the type of business you are in or products you sell (i.e. the name you choose can be denied).

I've used them and they are professional. Don't know about reliable as I only use their web services to direct DNS request to my DNS servers.

Edit: Apparently the domain name registration limits have changed. From their homepage:

The foreign company could register their trademark as the domain name as much as they own via the representative office in Thailand.

Yep you are allowed to register one domain name which must have some relation to your company name or one of the directors in the company's name.

But a company can try to register "trademarks" and if they get approved, the company can apply for domain names similar to those trademarks. Some domains are not available though, e.g. www.computer.co.th if you look it up it says available (at least it did when we registered our company soon a year ago) but even with computer in the company name the domain was not available, quite bummed as we thought we had made a scoop. Why would www.computer.co.th be any different than www.pizza.co.th ? I guess we should have offered someone a lot of tea money even to be considered :)

Thanks for the information.. very useful. :)
