Thai Airways

Featured Replies

Very revealing article on Thai Air from the newly appointed Chairman, he seems to have taken on board many of the points that have been raised on TV....

http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8363476.stm

If he can manage to clean up the mess, maybe Thai could become a decent carrier once again.

Didn't read the article because I pretty sure I know what it says...anyway I will believe it when I see it.

let's see if and when thai press will publish his interview and lets see how long will he last in his post.

the political and social situation did not change recently, so I wouldn't expect much from him - inertia, corruption and nepotism in thailand is far greater, than what we see

Terribly unfortunate to see the once premiere-class international carrier fall into such a mire of embarrassment. Coupled with the basic concepts of bad business practices {which includes the expected graft, corruption, etc} and the general airline downsizing worldwide, Thai Airways needs a good swift kick. Action is properly just than rhetoric might be. I guess we'll see, won't we?

"Thai Airways was a company which did not provide transparent information to investors," he said.

Amoungst other things :):D

Like the guy though - at least someone who speaks up. Let's wait and see for how much longer he'll be heading TA. His interests do not seem to align with those of the stakeholders (excluding shareholders :))

How is it possible that they will lose money in next quarter? high season

I keep reading how tourism is back on track, numbers are high and

hotels are full? Oh ya,and holidayt shopping is gearing up, they will

soon have lights on the malls and Santa display starts in December 20th

Woops ... Santa Display canceled .... apparently he was arrested

Dr Piyasvasti is probably one of your least orthodox Thai civil servants.

Former head of the Energy Policy and Planning Office, the guy knows how to get what he wants in a world of politicians trying to get him to do the 'wrong' thing. Very practical guy and has been known to kick heads when needs be. Made a mint, as I understand, at Kasikorn funds management after he retired from government.

One of my canditates as 'Thailand's smartest person'. If he can't help Thai, I doubt anyone can.

Of course, he served in the coup government as energy minister....so that is going to cause reams of diatribe from red-inclined posters around here.

I'll start believing that things at TG are getting better when they bring back the earlier much superior toothpicks. :)
