Payment Of Phone Bills

I have been told I can pay telephone bills in 7-11. Please can someone tell me the process: Take the bill in and then what? The girls in my local 7-11 seem so dim, they even give wrong change.

Any words of advice?

In 7-11 Just say "Counter service" and hand them the bill.

There is a problem with the new CAT telecom bills because they dont have three barcodes at the top of the page, now they just have one at the bottom and

no one has told 7-11 staff how to deal with that yet

If you can't pay in 7-11 then try a bank goto the information counter and say

" Jai tee nee dai mai ? " while holding the bill up for the bank person to see.

Ohh almost forgot.... they will charge you 10 baht for the service.

Usually it's a matter of going in with the bill, and the money, and 15 baht extra for the service.

I don't know if all 7-11s do it though. There's probably a sign for "counter-service" on the window when they do.

10 baht in Phuket

And you can pay your UBC bill, +10baht.

But do both immediately you get the bill, as sometimes 7-11's are slow to pass on the money to the other company.

This is good advice. Better yet, your bank.

You can also pay at your bank's ATM.

"Other Services" it's called at Bangkok Bank

If you have a saving acct, you can get internet access to your account

and pay bill there. I pay TOT and True from my laptop this way.

Yep, you gotta give the 7-11 people time to go to the telephone company - that's what the 10 baht is for... motocy taxi!

Thanks for that advice: I have just heard today a few 7-11 delay stories. I paid in Carrefour at customer services, 10 baht and a computer receipt.

I have Thai internet banking but when I try to transfer money it says 'sorry we cannot process this request' yet I have already set up the internet banking in the bank. In fact all I can do is check my balance!

Is bill paying possible on all internet banking accounts?

I have the same problem. I think you have to set up the arrangement at the bank first, and in person. But I've never bothered - it's safer not to have any money transfer facilities set up via the Internet IMHO .

Yes. I can do it at two different banks.

You can pay any recognized vendor from a large list they have, or transfer to any

account other than your own at your bank. The last one requires you go to the bank and add the account to your payee list.

If you want to transfer to another individual at another bank, you have to do that at the ATM, usually at your bank.

As I said, I pay TOT, DTAC and True from my laptop.
