Chaps,

Just renewed my 12 month, multi-entry Non-Imm "O" visa. Cost was S$250. As usual I went in Friday morning, when the embassy is v. quiet and collected passport following Monday.

Seems to be no change to policy this year - ie. if you are a Singapore citizen or resident and meet the other criteria, a multi entry visa can be issued without any hassle. That's not such good news for those of you who actually want to use your visa to live in Thailand of course...

For the record, I gave them:

* copy of my passport + Employment Pass

* copy of wife's passport + Dependants Pass

* copy of wife's Thai ID card

* copy of Thai marriage certificate + English translation

These were all signed and dated by the missus.

I also showed a copy of a recent bank statement, but once the lady on the counter had had sight of it, she returned it to me.

Hope this helps (?)

Dear Capt Chaos,

I have some questions regarding your post;

a) Employment pass? Pls elaborate.

:) Dependent's pass? Pls elaborate.

c) How much money must be in my thai account?

Thank you in advance. BTW, I am a S'porean.

EP & DEP are for foreigners working in Singapore and their spouses, so obviously you won't need those ... :)

Who said it had to be in a Thai account??? The point here is that the SG embassy seems to only grant 12 month multi entry visas to those who are living/working in Singapore and who meet the other criteria. I showed my HSBC Singapore bank statement - a required amount was not stated. The embassy in SG used to want to see the equivalent of THB 400k (about SGD 17k at current FX rates) but that was before they changed the "rules" about 18 months or so ago.
