my 2 month tourist visa ends next month and i am leaving for australia to visit family.

i asked siam legal about non immigrant B visa and they said no problem, they do paper and sponsor etc

for bht15,000+vat. then in australia i apply and pay au$250 or so.

i asked sunbelt and same story except bht10,000+vat. they both said no one is ever refused in oz.

Has anyone done this or is there a better ie cheaper alternative to get a 12 month multi entry.

regards in advance. (ps i am irish citizen)

If your paperwork is in order you don't need to pay an agent. Just get a letter from your company with the relevant details and present it at a Thai Consulate with application and the $250.

I dont work here. i live off overseas investments. so am i stuck with an agent then, or would it be better to set up a company here.?

Setting up a company to get the work permit and non-imm visa requires 2 million paid up capital, 4 thai employees making at least minimum wage and paying social security and if the company doesn't show revenue to support your salary (minimum between 35k and 60k depending on your nationality) then they can yank the visa anyway and you need to pay tax on your "salary"

So not the cheapest or easiest route to visa status

If have Thai friends, can obtain 12 month multiple entry Non-O visa on basis of visiting friends at Perth or Brisbane consulates with signed copy of Thai friends ID/passport and supporting letter.

sounds like too much work.

I'll just go with sunbelt then guys, thanks.

PS i am 40, i will get around to profile updating later.

If you are living on oversea's investments why does 10,000 thb sound to much to you for a legal company to go all the legal work to get your visa approved?

As an investor you problem toss this much away in commissions every week or so?
