Dear Forum,

I have just bought a new Phantom, and have decided it is sensible to get some motor-bike accident insurance. I am more interested in myself but maybe the bike as well? Advice welcome. Apparently my bank, Kasikorn, offers some kind of accident insurance but when asked they told me it is for Thais and those with work permits. I have lived in Thailand over three years on a retirement visa.

I contacted ThaiVisa but so far have received info on something that will cost me 7000 a year, that seems too much when the Kasikorn one was approx 3000. This was American.

Does anyone know of such insurance and whether I can get it?

PM, if you like.

Hope you are keeping well,

All the Best,

BillZ

Most of the Thai companies offer little compensation, argue like hel_l over claims, and often refuse to pay out. Most of my Thai friends have had problems. Go for the American one.
