Jeetkune-do Bruce Lee's Martial Art In Bangkok

Featured Replies

I have trained on and off in various martial arts since my early 20's. As a child I was amazed by the legendary Bruce Lee and tried to seek out instruction in his unique form of combat. Unfortunately this art is almost dead and almost impossible to find instruction in it. I am privileged and lucky to have found the true teaches of Bruce Lee here in Thailand under sifu Mark Stewart when I joined a new gym recently. I am now waiting for my private lesson with him. He represents Bruce Lees top student, Sifu Ted Wong. There are other teachers here who claim to teach JKD. One chinese gentleman in particular I will not mention his name, he has a website and teaches tai-chi. But I feel he should be honest and admit that he is simply cashing in on the JKD name and stop misleading people. People can be qulaified by watching a few DVD's and taking a few private lesson's and honestly call themselves correct. I went to his class and it was good. Sorry to say it was not JKD and nothing close to it. I am also saddened by the lack of Muaythai (Thai boxing) quality taught here to westeners who simply do not know better. A newly opened muaythai gym close to where I now train is simply aweful. I am amazed how easily taken in other westeners are and suggest we have some sort of regulating board to counter this misrepresentation.
