Chocolate? Where To Buy

Featured Replies

one thing I didn't find in Thailand is proper chocolate.

I tried US choco before, but it isn't quite there, UK is a bit better, but still not on the level of the brands sold in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Austria and France.

Are there places selling Lindt, other european brands or at least Toblerone or Milka (which I consider to already to be at the lower end)?

What does Carrefour offer? (never been there)

You can find Toblerone in most 7-11's. Most of the major European brands can be found in Carrefour and sometimes even Tesco-Lotus. Villa and Home Fresh Mart have huge selections..literally an entire aisle that's full of chocolate. Euro chocolate is nothing special in Thailand.

Try Bei Otto (http://www.beiotto.com).

"You can also find several wines and spirits from Germany in the delicatessen. We recommend Otto's Krönung, our own coffee. Sweets such as German or Swiss chocolate, Gummibears and different candies are also available."

thanks!

Be careful!!!

Some of the European brands of chocolate found at Carrefour and other stores are often made in Malaysia and are NOT of the same European quality.

you can find Lindt in any 'Top' supermarkets

milka is also becoming quite common

but if you want a full selection of imported chocolates, go to the supermarket on the basement of Paragon mall. everything you need should be available...a couple of decent belgian ones too

you can also find a number of hotels that sell decent praline in their coffee shops. Landmark on Suk 4-6 has a decent collection. the Oriental shop also has a few nice delicacies.

TOPS has German Ritter Sport 100 gr squares, but not a great selection.

A special @ 67 Baht, last time I checked.

There is a Belgium pattisery at Sukhumvit road main roas tought it was close to soi 29.

Valhrona chocolate as well.

^ thats the Duc de Praslin.

corner of Soi 31 (but on another thread I recall seeing someone mention that it was closed for renovation? but that they have a kiosk in Central World - I recall seeing a chocolate kiosk near entrance on 2nd floor, but cant remember if that was Duc de Praslin one or not...)

I can see the Chocolate moderator loving this topic :)

How about "Crunchy Frog" chocolate? I can't find it anywhere.

I did try to request for a chocolate sub forum :)

Visit any branch of Rimping in Chiang Mai, just one more good reason, to take a short (or long !) trip up here ! :)

Pity about your thoughts about Toblerone being too lower order for you.

I just bought 2 boxes over with me and could have shared.

More tooth rotting for me.

Don't know about the offer but Tesco and BiC carry Lindt and Ritter Sport as well as this beautiful rich Belgium Chocolate in Shell shapes...

every big supermarket-chain (and of course, CARREFOUR, which is certainly number 1 for every Western-European Expat) sells RITTER SPORT. even those specials like "Strawberry-Yoghurt" which is only available a few months a year
